Now, the ABA Journal reports that a $10+million verdict is threatened because of a Facebook issue.
The defendant in the case has alleged that plaintiff’s counsel instructed a plaintiff to delete information from a Facebook account and then denied that the account existed at the time of the death.

The plaintiff’s lawyer has now retired from the practice of law.
This is a real tragedy, first for the plaintiff and second for the plaintiff’s lawyer. It is appropriate to advise clients about what they should write and post, but they should not be advised to destroy or alter that which has been written or posted.
